Given its a universal mount, it uses Spyder arms instead of a custom plate like the Chief mount.this introduces some slight “wobble” if you physically rock the projector back and forth. It’s not an issue as the mount is still built like a tank and no one should be physically rocking the projector back and forth but wanted to mention it.it’s very very solid.Īll in all, I’m very pleased with the upgrade, micro adjustments and the sled are the big benefits. The projector can slide back and forth a few inches (Perhaps 2 inches) in the sled to fine tune your throw. This is a big benefit to have this versatility The base plate that slides into the ceiling mount is a sled mechanism giving you a few inches of throw adjustment without having to uninstall the ceiling mount and reinstall. It’s a universal mount so will fit several projectors and is very very solid.Far more solid than the Peerless mount IMO Nice casing to hide the ceiling mount plate and micro adjustment dials so you don’t see all the mounting screws etc Nice big dials for micro adjustments, no tweaking with a small screw driver As mentioned the Peerless doesn’t have a rotational micro adjustment. Micro adjustments for vertical, horizontal and rotation are a piece of cake and they really are MICRO adjustments. I was using the Peerless mount and just didn’t feel right that a $100 mount was holding up my $10,000 projector. Also rotational micro adjustments on the Peerless don’t exist. Here’s a brief review of the Strong mount. Hi folks.I should have started the last few posts by mentioning I installed this new mount for my NX 7 recently. It’s the Strong SM-PROJ-XL-BLK. just grin and bare it through the cheesy bits I think only a couple of sellers in au and expensive at nearly $400 which is about what the peerless goes for as rrp though most folks can get the peerless from us for nearly half that with quick shipping.doesnt look like anyone shipping the strong from the us as its installer only sold there by looks.Ī user review i saw on avs on the strong, and also below a chintzy us youtube that probably runs through it pretty well. though the strong is a quite heavy mount in itself and looks like has slightly less weight capacity though would still take heavy large projectors like JVC 4k machines. It also has click detents to adjust which i think is a step further than the peerless as well. the strong brings precisions adjustment to Yaw as well. the strong looks like adds horizontal movement (yaw) as well that the peerless can do but without precision - the peerless has its precision is in two axis only with pitch and roll. Its good to see another geared mount on the market and this looks better than the peerless precision mount i myself have used for some years that is very precise in aligning the projector to screen.
