![]() I'm not so fond of the haze but I can't fault if for that, and the head has held up well and left some nice lacing about the glass. In the mouth it's medium bodied and gently crisp and then smooth across the palate. A moderate bitterness balamces it in combination with the spice and it finishes mainly dry and spicy with a soft swirl of cinnamon lingering. All in all I find it to be a really nicely balanced mix although most people will probably ask "Where's the coffee?". The malt is bready and slightly caramelish. I could be mistaken maybe it's just a more balanced pumpkin spice beer and the coffee isn't really doing anything other than adding a light side note. On to the taste, the coffee is a minimal contribution to it but it seems to somehow help pull it together. I'm not really picking anything else out although I'd go with allspice over anything else. The aroma is more pumpkin spice than coffee but it's a good blend, it's not to cinnamony, nor too nutmeg-like. Notes via stream of consciousness: So is this a pumpkin spiced coffee beer? Yes it is! It's a very hazy deep copper beneath a finger's width of antique-white foam. Enjoyable and the addition of a light amount of coffee works well in this pumpkin spice ale. O: Drinks relatively easily with well hidden alcohol and a relatively smooth mouthfeel. M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Finally there are light flavors of earthy hops which impart a light amount of bitterness along with some light roasty bitterness which fades away slowly leaving light lingering pumpkin spice. That is followed by moderate flavors of pumpkin pie spices (cinnamon + nutmeg) and light flavors of coffee and pumpkin. T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of toasted + caramel + bready malts with moderate amounts of caramel sweetness. Light aromas of pumpkin and hints of earthy hops. Moderate aromas of pumpkin pie spices (cinnamon + nutmeg) and light aromas of coffee. S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of toasted + caramel + bready malts with moderate amounts of caramel sweetness. ![]() The beer has a two finger tall fizzy foamy beige head that reduces to a large patch of slightly mottled thin film covering approximately 85% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. won't get it again, but won't refuse one, if offered (2144) May 09, 2023Ī: Pours a slightly hazy medium to dark golden honey in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate amber + dark golden yellow + burnt orange + copper colored highlights. honestly, it's a serviceable, kind of old school brew pub rendition. a trashy affair, but at least its flavors held up. O: bought this because my other purchase didn't reach their credit minimum. luckily, no warmth, just lingering spicy pings in the aft could use a bit more desserty chub inflated buoyancy a little residual acidic oiliness?. it's almost halfway through it where I remember and become aware of the coffee: it's thankfully not fortified with saccharine sweetness, and sits in a respectful balance with the spicesį: airy, almost fluffy carbonation (and it's well-carbonated whoa) vaguely chewy in the finish. T: pumpkin pie spice blast up front, quickly followed by a slow surge of the coffee, finishing with vegetal (pumpkin flesh?) and brown-bready toastiness. actually turns out to have great depth and expression pie crusty malt emerges after a couple minutes. S: pumpkin pie spice (muddy mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, maybe allspice, dried ginger) with a subtle, but easily noticeable note of medium-roast coffee (would know it without the label saying). L: opaque, cloudy, like an unfiltered wheat beer bouncy, finger-high pad of off-white foam, which recedes into a broken, messy cap and smeary collar. ![]() (12 oz bottle, PKG 264 W 09/19/22 purchased bottle off shelf at Beer Peddlers $1.99.
